Update - 4/14/00

Hurray, this page is outdated already!  Novalogic has already released a page with info on the rules and technology of base wars.  Not everything is included, but if you read this page, you should definitely read theirs too.

The one problem I found is that it doesn't say anywhere how to trigger Bora Remote Sappers.  After some trial and error, I figured it out.  To use a Remote Sapper, fire it and let it attach to the object.  Afterwards, hold down the same button you use for firing for about 2 seconds, and a "Release to detonate" message pops up.  Needless to say, let go and boom!

Welcome!

Welcome to my Tachyon: The Fringe demo fan page!  This page will go over the basics of the Tachyon demo, since there isn't a lot of documentation out yet.  Hopefully when the full game comes out, this page will become obsolete, but until then, it's a hassle to ask or answer questions in mid-game.

If you don't know what Tachyon is, it's a space flight-simulator game. The reason why it's awesome is that the single player game has the voice of Bruce Campbell (star of Evil Dead movies and Hercules, Xena, Jack of All Trades,...), and the multiplayer has some of the best team war scenarios ever.  This site will cover the multiplayer version, which is available in the demo.

If you don't have the demo, you can download it by going to www.novalogic.com.  It's about 56MB, but well worth it if you have a speedy connection to get it.  It's also due to come out on April 19th, according to EB World (aka Electronics Boutique).  You can pre-order it at www.ebworld.com for only $35. Just do a search for "tachyon".

I don't have a lot of time to work on this website, or to answer questions.  Still, you can send feedback to chibiacer@linainverse.net.  Obviously I don't know everything about the game, so if you have something to share, let me know.  But again, I don't have a lot of free time (not enough to play the game as much as I'd like), so please don't be surprised or upset if you don't get a response.  Just the same, thanks for reading. = )

Let's get started with The Rules of Base Wars
